L'architecture de l'information: quelle réalité conceptuelle?

Abstract : This paper examines the concept of information architecture in its historical emergence and its intersection with various disciplines. From the point of view of the information and communication sciences, we focus on two shared issues: knowledge organization for quality and fluidity of access, and reference to the spatial metaphor, which is not really new. The renewal concept is mainly about the change of scale and the focus on user experience in its interaction with the Web in different media. The paper concludes by discussing the emerging professional reality, noting the importance of team projects in bringing together diverse skills, including technology, knowledge management, and Web design, the latter being particularly valued today.
