Abstract : This paper presents and analyzes, from a didactic point of view, a teaching practice that has been going on for several years in a course in Bachelor of Science in Education; this course is followed by students who, for most of them, aim to become teachers. In this course, students are asked to write about memories related to their reading or writing learning experience. What is dealt with here are specific language practices: memoires and their analysis. After presenting the theoretical frame that underpins this teaching practice, we present and discuss its variations over the years, trying to determine its benefits and limitations, in order to finally assess its effect by the means of an analysis of some students productions. What emerges from our study confirms the benefits of an approach that allows the students to be confronted to language practices that underline the reflective dimension of writing in the process of learning.
