Abstract : This paper intends to present some of the theoretical and methodological lines that shape a scientific research lead by members of Théodile-CIREL. This research focuses upon the teachers professional writings. The authors first set up the theoretical frame they adopt, then, as an illustration, develop an analysis of a peculiar writing type: the “cahier de textes” (which is a kind of organizer the teacher has to inform). They characterize this writing as a discursive genre, looking for what it may tell us about the didactical work of the teacher.
