Abstract : This study belongs especially to the didacties of French : French as a first language and French as a second language. It focuses on teachers' approaches to help students in 6th grade and newly arrived secondary school students in integration classes in France (ENAF) improve their text productions. How do teachers from different professional culture create interactions between oral and written languages in their approaches for improvement of texts ? To analyze the teachers' approaches, my multi-referential processes use some research results concerning work analysis, didactics of French, historical-cultural processes and interactionist linguistics. The interpretative and conceptual framework and the methodological framewoek are presented in the first two parts. In a situated approach, the third part studies six teachers' practices while focusing on how they combine and articulate their written and oral resources. I analyze how this semiotic material is used in interaction in four 6th grade classes and two integration classses for newly arrived secondary school students in France. The goal is to compare the pedagogical practices in these two teaching environments and highlight the points of convergence and the points of divergence. The results of this investigation in situation are put in perspective in the fourth part which presents responses to 109 questionnaires filled out by 84 6th grade teachers and 25 integration class teachers. In part 5, results of the various surveys are compared ; new research topics and teachers training priorities are suggested.
