Authentification et légitimation d’un problème de société par les journalistes : Les violences de genre en banlieue dans la médiatisation de Ni putes ni soumises

Abstract : Mainstream media, in addition to enabling collective mobilizations to reach social visibility, can authenticate the social issue formulated by protest groups. In valuing the testimony of "non-white" female teenagers in their productions, journalists have built the cause of gender violence in the French suburbs that had been carried by Ni putes ni soumises (Neither whores nor submissive) from January 2002 onwards, as having a social existence. This authentication process by the media has led to legitimize the fight of Ni putes ni soumises to the public opinion and the political sphere.
